Discount Hydroponics Gardening
Michalis 'BIG Mike' Kotzakolios
Hydroponics gardening can get expensive, especially if you're trying to grow a crop for commercial purposes, or if you're growing on larger scale for other reasons. Even personal use hydroponics sets can run over a thousand dollars. Outside of a student discount, or a government grant, it's not going to get any cheaper. Discount Hydroponics offers a wide variety of hydroponics gardening tools, with the happy claim that they will match and beat any one else's prices. Their simplest systems start out in the $50-$60 range, and then climb into the low thousand dollar range as complexity ramps up. Many of the tools you'd expect to come with a complete system, however, are sold separately--even on the more expensive models. Another discount hydroponics store one might consider is located at http://hydroponicstore.com/catalog/. They seem more geared toward restocking an already existent garden, though they do sell complete systems. The cheapest, the "Home Garden," runs $60, and comes with everything you'd need to start a simple hydroponics project at home. Discount Hydroponics, mentioned above, would be hard pressed to match the price of this system--because they don't actually sell it. Or if they do, it is hidden by an obscure website layout and is effectively invisible to the consumer. A UK store, also bearing the name Discount Hydroponics (I'm expecting a legal dispute any day; the number of hydroponics stores using this as their company name is astounding) located at http://www.discount-hydro.co.uk/ makes no secret about what they believe their customer base desires: illicit drugs. The Indoor Marijuana Horticulture is advertised prominently on their home page, right next to sign proclaiming, "Spend 100 pounds and get The Indoor Bible FREE!" (The Indoor Bible, of course, being a guide on how to grow the dubious plant indoors.) They don't actually sell complete systems, but their individual parts are ideal for replacing worn or broken bits, and the prices are more than reasonable. Hydroponics gardening might be exactly what you're looking for, hobby-wise. A small home system at most retailers will cost, when everything is finally finished and you're not grabbing anything else at the last minute, two hundred dollars--less if you're a smart spender. No matter how you go about it, though, you can't avoid the simple fact that hydroponics gardening is an investment. Are your pockets deep enough? If not, check out one of the many discount hydroponics stores.
